A home is personal. Imara is built so that the people in your building are who they say they are, and so that what you share reaches only the people it is meant for.
Who is who
IDs are checked.
Everyone signs up with their phone number and their ID, and Imara’s team checks it. Only the last four digits of the number are ever shown in the app.
Buildings are approved.
A new building, and every home put on offer, is checked by Imara before anyone sees it. A shop shows Verified only once Imara has checked it.
Each sees their part.
A caretaker sees no amounts a tenant owes; a house hunter’s number reaches a host only once a viewing is booked. The same rules are kept in the database itself, not only in the app.
Your chats
Chats with people stay on your phone.
Imara’s servers only pass a message on and remove it once it is delivered, and after 30 days at most. A backup is a file you make and keep yourself. No one at Imara can read these chats.
What the building keeps, stays on record.
Some chats both sides rely on: a tenant’s chats with the building, the team’s chat, a building’s channels, chats with Imara, and chats about an order, a pickup or a viewing. These stay on Imara’s servers for both sides.
Block and report.
In any chat you can block or report someone. Imara’s trust and safety team reads every report and decides what happens; a paused person is told why.
Imara’s staff leave a trail.
Imara’s staff see what their job needs. Each step they take asks why, is written in a log that cannot be changed, and the person is told. You can ask what was done about you.
Your phone
Asked only when needed.
Location, camera, notifications and the microphone are asked for at the tap that needs them, with the reason. Say no and Imara carries on another way. Every Settings has a Permissions page.
It locks itself.
Away for more than ten minutes, Imara locks, and opens with your code or Face ID if you turned it on. Signing out ends the session on the server at once.
The gate’s log is let go.
Visits and cars are deleted six months on. A visitor’s ID number is shown in full only while they are inside the compound.
Your data
Not for sale.
Imara does not sell your data and shows no advertising from outside Imara. A shop’s boosted post is always marked Sponsored.
Nothing guessed with money.
A payment that arrives without saying what it is for is matched by a person, on its own page. A closed month never changes.
Leave when you like.
Delete your account yourself, in the app. Nothing is removed for 30 days, so you can change your mind.
